From Strategy to Action

Situation

A fast growing, entrepreneurial IT company with highly educated people and international ambitions is not able to execute its strategy. It needs more clarity and a culture that promotes behavior that is aligned with the strategy.

Approach

Together with a guiding coalition of key influencers of different stakeholder groups within the organization we organized a series of workshops in which we:

  • Clarified the strategy with Kaplan & Norton’s Strategy Map, including a plan for foreign expansion
  • Translated strategic goals to improvement and development projects for each Business Unit
  • Formulated the desired culture, based on clear values en concrete behaviors + how we will give complements & feedback on behavior
  • Facilitated quarterly follow-up meetings

Results

Improved clarity and consistent (over)communication lead to high awareness and engagement with the new strategy. Business Units work better together and awareness of behavior and it’s impact on performance has increased. First results show the strategy is going to work!
