Situation
Bob, manager at a global logistic service provider: “I have successfully proved myself and my added value to the organization, to my team and to my colleagues. My boss wants me to lead a much bigger team as my next step. But what exactly do I want? How to get clarity? And how to realize that?”
Approach
We believe people are at their best when they use their Strengths and work in a positive an challenging atmosphere. During six coaching sessions over a period of three months we worked with Bob to find out what his real talent and energy was. And also how he could develop himself to explore his Strengths. In between the coaching sessions Bob works on preparation assignments and self-defined action points.
Results
Bob’s increased self-knowledge helps him to choose to both develop his analytical skills and his leadership skills. He declines the suggested new leadership role since it doesn’t include further analytical growth. Together we prepare the conversation with his manager to discuss this clearly, tactfully and solution oriented. The outcome is that, together with his manager, Bob creates a new role which combines his analytical and his leadership ambitions.
